The U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies are searching for a missing crewman who fell overboard from an anchored bulk carrier near Cape Charles, Va., Tuesday.   The 33-year-old Chinese crewman reportedly went overboard early Tuesday morning while fastening a ladder on the starboard quarter of the 770-foot Hong Kong flagged cargo ship Lara Venture at the Cape Charles Anchorage.

French shipping group CMA CGM said it has taken delivery of its new flagship, the first in a series of three new 20,600 TEU containerships.   The French flagged CMA CGM Antoine De Saint Exupery will enter into service on February 6 on the FAL 1 service (French Asia Line 1), which connects Asia to Northern Europe.

Coast Guard Responds to Grounded Vessel in St. Lawrence Seaway

The U.S. Coast Guard and the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation are responding to the motor vessel Pacific Huron, loaded with soybean, that ran aground late Wednesday in the Saint Lawrence Seaway near Wellesley Island, New York.   The forward portion of the 623-foot motor vessel is aground and their stern anchor is deployed. The vessel is 1,000 feet outside of the channel.
