Pasha Hawaii reports that factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the dual-fueled, MAN Diesel & Turbo ME-GI main engine has been completed for the M/V George III, the first of two 774-ft., U.S. Jones Act, LNG-fueled containerships being built at Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, TX. The two ‘Ohana Class ves-sels will join the Pasha Hawaii fleet, which provides service to the Hawaii/Mainland trade lane.

PSI Delivers LNG-Fuelled Vessel to Matson

Philly Shipyard (PSI), the unit of Philly Shipyard ASA, delivered the second dual-fuel Aloha Class containership, Kaimana Hila, to Matson Navigation Company.‘Kaimana Hila’ is the second of two 3,600 TEU “Aloha Class” containerships that were ordered by Matson. The first vessel, ‘Daniel K. Inouye,’ was delivered by PSI in October 2018 and is currently in service for Matson.

Inouye, which entered service in November of 2018.
