Eco Marine Power Co., Ltd. announced that it has commenced evaluation trials of its updated solar power system known as Aquarius Marine Solar Power, and the first of several photovoltaic (PV) module technologies. The trials, planned to run for 12 to 18 months, aim to demonstrate the practicality and performance of the updated solar power system in real maritime conditions
The Port of Barcelona's newest all-electric commuter ferry, the Ecocat Tres, has been delivered with an electric propulsion system by Molabo.Built by Metaltec Naval, the 15-meter aluminum catamaran transports 84 people and features a rooftop deck for additional seating. The vessel operates at least 12 hours per day, running every 15 to 30 minutes for a 10-minute journey between stops.
Marine battery manufacturer AYK Energy reports it has secured a contract to build a new 4,200 KWh battery for Spanish ship owner Mureloil. The agreement will see AYK’s Aries + battery supplied on a new 7999 DWT diesel-electric product tanker being built for Mureloil at Astilleros Murueta shipyard near Bilbao.
