$754M Ship Repair Contract Awarded

General Dynamics NASSCO, a subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) won a contract by the U.S. Navy for the maintenance, modernization and repair of USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) and USS James E. Williams (DDG 95). The contract for an initial $15.6 million includes options that, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $753.8 million.

South Africa: Feedlot Manager Arrested for Dehorning Rams Bound for Sea Transport

The Feedlot Manager of the live export company Al Mawashi has been arrested in South Africa after animal welfare inspectors found over 126 rams with their horns cut off - in an attempt to make them eligible for export by sea to Kuwait.The dehorning was done after the NSPCA Inspectors had left the feedlot, once the loading of animals had been concluded for the day.
