Advanced Polymer Coatings Signs Deal to Coat Two Methanol Tankers with Fratelli Cosulich

Manufacturer Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) has signed a deal with global maritime transportation group Fratelli Cosulich to support its methanol-ready fleet expansion.APC has signed a contract with the Italian headquartered group to supply its industry-leading MarineLINE cargo tank coating to two new IMO Class II chemical tankers, to prepare them for methanol bunkering in Singapore.

On October 9, 2025, the Fratelli Cosulich Group launched Maya Cosulich — the world’s first methanol-powered IMO II chemical bunker tanker — at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard.The ceremony was attended by Ms. Hoe Sook Mei from the Fratelli Cosulich Singapore office, who served as the Godmother of Maya Cosulich.

Chemical Bunkering Tanker Ordered

Fratelli Cosulich Group placed an order for another 7,999 dwt IMO2 chemical bunkering tanker at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., which when delivered in Q4 '26 will bring the company's total number of methanol-ready barges to four.This newbuild vessel is designed to carry fuel oil, biofuels up to B100 and methanol. The delivery of this methanol-ready vessel is scheduled for Q4 2026.
