Kirby Corporation has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire substantially all of CGBM 100, LLC's inland marine tank barge fleet for an undisclosed amount.Under the terms of the agreement, Kirby will acquire 27 of CGBM's 10,000 barrel inland marine tank barges which have a total capacity of approximately 270,000 barrels.

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has delivered the fifth cruise ship in a series of oceangoing newbuilds for ship owner Viking Cruises. Cruise ferry M/S Viking Grace has become the world’s first passenger ship equipped with a rotor sail to harness wind power for propulsion.   The rotor sail, developed by Finnish engineering company Norsepower Oy Ltd., is a modernized version of the Flettner rotor: a vertical spinning cylinder that uses the Magnus effect to harness wind power to propel a ship.
